oh no.
you've crossed a line... man.
you're not supposed to talk about God.
talk about anything else...
talk about hot chixxx & junk.
but, you can't talk about religion, bro.
God is listening.
God is Listening...
God is listening?
i don't think God is listening.
we'll maybe he is.
but i'm sure he doesn't care.
he doesn't care anymore than
he cares about what you have to say.
or what paul walker has to say...
or christopher walken...
or george h. w. bush...
are you getting my point?
i went to go see this moviefilm at the CC
it's called "Bill Maher's Religious Film Bonanza Quest"
got me thinking about god/spirituality/that lion from Narnia
is the bible anything more than a storybook really?
aesop's fables?
truly grimm fairy tales?
the question i pose is this...
if you take out all the "divine qualities"
and get down to just the morals.
the core values.
the cliff notes (clif bars?)
can't we learn the same lessons,
from children's books?
organized religion is a form of fear mongering
with a dash of drama club & a bloodlust for money.
it's a scare tactic.
to scare primitive minds into obedience.
fire & brimstone
cast into the bowels of hell.
well, i don't know about all that.
but i know i believe in something.
call it comfort, but i don't wanna feel like we're all alone.
alone as a species.
an evolutionary footnote.
a freak accident in an empty universe.
there must be something higher.
i just don't know what.
maybe god.
maybe allah.
maybe jesus.
probably not this jesus.
Jesus hates menthols.
just like me.
we all have a little bit of Jesus in us.
but without the divinity.
the morals still exist.
i don't need Moses to tell me not to kill people.
that's what my parents are for.
morals make you a good person
organized religion makes you a pawn.
cause you know what they say...
"when God hands you lemons, start a holy war"
