8-Bit Dance Party!!! (Part 1)

Kid Icarus (NES)
Nintendo (1986)

Kid Icarus is one of the most under-rated games for the NES
& probably one of the most original as well.

With gameplay falling somewhere between Metroid & Super Mario Bros,
you play as 'Pit', a young angel who has to fight his way through
the Underworld, collect the 'Sacred Treasures' & try not to fuck
with 'Johnny Eggplant' over here...

Yeah, that's a real enemy...

He's called 'the Eggplant Wizard' (creative name right?)
& his main power is that he can turn you... into an eggplant.

Game designers where apparently just taking
whatever drugs you gave them in the 80's.

And while the game is easy to pick up & play
it is by no means easy, in fact, it is considered to be
one of the most frustratingly difficult NES games of all-time.

I could go on all day about this game,
It's one of my favorite video games of all time for any system,
but let's get the point of my story.

Kid Icarus has phenomenal music.
i'm alway impressed with what the game designers could
do with such a limited sound board,
but i still remember humming the song from level one
while running around the house as a kid...

and stabbing all the eggplants in the fridge,
thus my mom didn't really like this game.

anyhow, enjoy some classic nintendo 8-Bit magic
